The CEO of Count on Crops Enyonam Manye has advised individuals looking to venture into Agribusiness to visit their local District Agriculture Office as their first step before investing in any arable land.
Speaking during the introductory episode of the JoyBusiness Masterclass Agribusiness Series yesterday August 8, 2024, Manye emphasised the importance of this precautionary measure to protect investments and avoid future legal disputes.
“The District Agric Office in the community knows the farmers, they know the families, they know the lands with litigation issues so don’t just follow anyone to buy land and lose your investment,” she cautioned.
Manye also highlighted the significance of understanding regional crop viability before entering crop production in Ghana. She encouraged agribusiness entrepreneurs to thoroughly research and know which crops thrive in specific regions to make informed decisions.
“Our climate is good, all that you need to know is which region grows what before venturing into Agribusiness. Know what crop is best for Volta Region, know what you can do in the Central Region, and know what to do in the Northern Region. Do your research before deciding on what to grow where,” she advised.
