A farmer has been left in tatters after a thunderstorm killed more than 20 of cattle during a heavy rain on Monday, May 25.
The herdsman, Sarkin Amaru, at Tatale in the Northern Region, narrated that he was in his hut when lightning struck, followed by a loud thunderclap, Citinewsroom reports.
Shortly after, he realised one of his cattle collapsed and rushed to slaughter it and that several others were also falling.
Amaru said more than 20 cattle died instantly, leaving him devastated and stranded.
Being his main source of livelihood, the incident has left him with nothing. He wonders how he could bounce back and support his family.
He is therefore appealing for public support.
“I’m appealing to the government, district assembly, individuals and organisations to come to my aid. Any amount will be appreciated,” he appealed.
