    Enyonam Manye Earns Nomination For 2023 IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders Award

    Enyonam Manye, host of the Ghanaian Farmer TV Show has been selected as one of the ten outstanding individuals to receive the 2023 IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders award. This prestigious award from the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) recognizes young professionals who have shown exceptional skills and leadership potential in agricultural journalism and communications.

    The Young Leaders will be recognized at the 2023 IFAJ in Canada, in June. They will participate in a special Boot Camp prior to the congress, which will include leadership and skills training as well as farm visits in Alberta, Canada.

    The IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders award, which has been supported by Alltech since 2006, is awarded to emerging leaders in agricultural journalism and communications from around the world.

    Enyonam Manye, who is the founder of Count on Crops Hub and hosts a TV show on agriculture was selected from a pool of nominees representing many of IFAJ’s 60 member nations.

    “The importance of strong journalism in communicating agriculture’s truth in today’s world cannot be overstated. We are proud to support the next generation of journalists who are passionate about sharing the real stories of the farm and field, and the men and women who work tirelessly to feed our planet,” said Dr. Mark Lyons, President and CEO of Alltech.

    Enyonam Manye, who holds a Degree in Communications Studies, has been working as a journalist and communicator in the agricultural sector for the past three years. Her passion for agriculture and her skills in journalism has helped her to report on various issues in the sector, including climate change, food security, and sustainable agriculture.

    “I am honoured to be selected as one of the IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders. This award is a recognition of my work in the agricultural sector, and it will inspire me to continue to tell the stories of the people who work hard to feed our planet,” Enyonam Manye said.

    The IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders Award is a significant achievement for young professionals in the agricultural sector. It not only recognizes their hard work and dedication but also provides them with the opportunity to network with other professionals in the industry and learn from their experiences.

    The young media personality’s nomination for the award is a testament to her passion for agriculture and her commitment to communicating its importance to the wider public. She believes that as a young journalist and communicator, she represents the next generation of professionals who will play a critical role in shaping the future of agriculture.

    Nominees from other countries are; Eliza Berlage, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia, Bianca Blasl, Bauer to the People, Austria, Anna Falk, HIR Skåne, Sweden, Betty Haynes, Prairie Farmer, USA. Nina Jareño Herrero, Interempresas Media, Spain, Tiisetso Manoko, Food for Mzanzi, South Africa.

    The rest are: Sofía Selasco, Bichos de Campo, Argentina, Geralyn Wichers, Glacier Farmmedia, Canada and Geraldine Zutter, Schweizer Agrarmedien, Switzerland.

    Meanwhile, Adalberto Rossi, Secretary General of the International Federation for Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) said “we must focus on a new generation of leaders who have the ability to lead our guilds towards an ever higher degree of professionalism. That is the goal of the Young Leaders Program.”

    “It is an honour to be at the forefront of such an important challenge that has the unique privilege of bringing together young and talented professionals from all over the world, who will return to their countries with new tools and knowledge, after having participated in a renewed Bootcamp and the Congress Annual of the IFAJ, which this year will take place in Canada,” Rossi added.

    She expressed gratitude to Alltech saying “I want to especially thank Alltech for joining us year after year with this innovative project, and for their commitment to training new leaders. The Young Leaders Program has long had a positive impact on our organization and I am sure it will continue to do so.”
